Meet Week Preparations

Our Red, White, & Blue Invite is in its 10th Anniversary year. This year we have 440 swimmers attending from all over the state, and 45 of our own athletes. As we prepare with our meet week preparations, here is a list of reminders that all need to be aware of as we near hosting this fun meet.
Meet Volunteers! We ask a lot from our families. And for a good reason, lots of good reasons, our kids! Our meets give our swimmers a chance to race at home and are the best fund raisers for community swim teams. For our meets to be a success we need lane timers, concessions and hospitality workers, awards givers, and facility set-up and tear-down helpers. All of this gets done by the families of our kids. Please help us fill vital positions to make the meet run as it should.

Concessions Stand Items. When we host meets outside, our concessions stand focusses on keeping attendees hydrated. It’s easy….and a quick buck!
During Meet Week we ask that each swimmer bring a “case” of water, pop, or Gatorade for our concessions stand to sell during the meet. For Mankato/ Saint Peter families, beverages can be brought to practice next week and given to the coaching staff. For New Prague families please bring to the meet as you arrive to volunteer. Here is how we assign which groups what to bring.
Senior 2 – 1 case (24 cans) of Pop (Coke, Diet Coke, Mountain Dew, Sprite/ 7UP, Dr. Pepper). Senior 1 – 1 Case (24 Bottles) of Gatorade (Red, Orange, Blue, Yellow) Age Group and Novice – 1 Case (40 Bottles) of Water.
Finally, our concessions team is asking for donations to help feed the coaches, officials, and meet staff all weekend long. Helping is easy. It might mean bringing a bag of brat buns, M&M’s, or a pan of muffins, or something as simple as a bunch of bananas. Instructions are easy to follow in the hospitality sign-up.
